Leave the A470 at the northern end of Ganllwyd, follow the small country lane, use either of the 2 car parks. From the car park follow the road for 200 yards, until it becomes a gravel road. Stay on the gravel road past the Ferndale B&B cottages, for 1 mile to the waterfalls and old gold mine buildings. The route is way-marked in yellow The return route crosses the Afon Mawddach using the bridge above the falls. The walk then follows the east bank of the river along the gravel road, bringing you to a second bridge, cross here to the west bank and turn right (north) to follow the river back up to the car park. Please take care not to stray from the paths, these workings, cliffs and rivers are dangerous.

The fast flowing river and deep pools are not suitable for swimming.
