Cader Idris
Distance : 6 miles Time : approx 4 hours Terrain : steep hill walking |
|
| The walk to the summit and back, from either end takes about 2 hours each way. With a second vehicle (or taxi), why not make a traverse of the mountain.
At nearly 3,000ft, or 893m, the weather on the summit will be significantly cooler than at the car parks. |
When heading out onto the mountain take an OS map and know how to read it, a compass is also useful, as is a basic first aid kit and a mobile phone.
Take this small mountain seriously and you'll have a great and safe day out. |
The routes onto Cader Idris require proper footware, boots are a must along with extra clothing, food & drink.
After you walk the nearest refreshment is in hotels at each end of the trail, or in Dolgellau, or Tal-y-llyn. |
